We are looking for an UK Area Manager to join our team. Malacuna, our lifestyle Hostel brand is landing in Birmingham, Liverpool & Manchester!
What will you do?
The UK Area Manager is responsible for planning, directing and coordinating the operations of all the assets of the assigned geographical area. The UK Area Manager is responsible for ensuring and improving the performance, productivity, efficiency and profitability through providing effective methods and strategies.
Leads, directs and manages the daily asset operations (via asset General Managers) but not limited to asset yearly budgeting and forecasting, strategic planning, managing reviews
performance, implementing and complying with company policies and standards.
coordinates capital improvements and property improvement plans, responds to guest’s
inquiries and resolves concerns, initiate, facilitate meeting participation and propose
improvements
Oversees service quality level, operational efficiency, guest satisfaction, SOP´s and
service compliance including financial measurements and auditing
Identifies operational performance, productivity and efficiency gaps and implements
measures to correct those deficiencies
Partners closely with the COO and work accordingly to the departmental guidelines and
priorities
Implements and manages assets' daily quality process to include, but not limited to,
communicating goals, empowering team members, managing service recovery
techniques and problem resolution and measuring satisfaction
Monitor and develop team member performance, particularly hotel managers and hotel
departmental managers, to include, but not limited to, providing supervision, professional
development, scheduling, conducting counselling and evaluations and delivering
recognition and (public) reward
Controls operating expenses of the asset's accounts and proposes corrective initiatives
Monitors P&L´s and STR reports
Management Systems:
• Updates policies and procedures for the assets in the assigned geographical area
in line with the company strategy
• Unifies management systems criteria for all establishments of the assigned geographical area
• Makes Audits of assets of the assigned geographical area and sets up
improvement plans where needed together with the hotel director
• Responsible for overall forecast of purchasing needs
• Identifies and develop Talents and work closely with HR department
Quality of Service Management: Review Pro
• Analyses results and develops improvement action plans
• Establishes areas of improvement
• Implements strategy to improve scores effectively coordinate and communicate
with the COO
Communication and assets visits
• Communicates effectively with asset General Managers, HQ and COO
• Visits assets and manages effectively teams, promote a positive work
environment with open door policy, encourages people development through
setting goals and evaluations and career growth.
• Performs 1-1 meetings mainly but not limited to the direct reports (and with the
goal of supporting, helping and correcting where needed
(Pre)opening new assets
• Revises new projects BP
• Coordinates the preopening operations of the new assets of the assigned
geographical area from the moment of the signature
• Prepares operational and payroll budgets for new assets
• Responsible for implementing (brands) SOP’s and delivering on established goals
together with CQO
• Selects new assets General Managers and key positions together with HR
• Promotes and takes an active role to facilitate the success of new assets teams
• Supports the Business development department in finding new assets projects
• Ensure the success of Asset Director(s) and drives results
What do we look for?
- Hospitality Management or equivalent work experience
- 10 years’ experience within Operatiosn in the Hospitality sectorÂ
- 5-year multi property management experience, preferably international
- Knowledge of PMS and POS
- Fluent in English, Spanish and additional languages are a plusÂ
- Driving licenseÂ
- Flexibility to travel
